SOUR CREAM CAKE 
2 round cake pans 8 inches - preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
1/4 c. milk

Line bottom of cake pans with wax paper. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift together cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream and milk. Beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Divide batter equally between cake pans. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until done. Allow layers to cool in pans on wire rack to cool thoroughly. Fill and frost with your favorite frosting.
