KATIE'S LAYERED LETTUCE SALAD 
1 head lettuce, cleaned and torn into bite-size pieces
1 c. celery, diced
4 eggs, hard cooked and sliced
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, uncooked
1/2 c. green pepper, diced
1 sweet onion medium sized, diced
8 slices bacon, fried and diced

Layer the 7 ingredients in a 18 1/8 x 9 1/2 x 2 inch pan in the order given. Add topping.

TOPPING:

2 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated

Mix sugar and mayonnaise together and spread over top as you would frosting. Top with grated cheese and refrigerate 8-12 hours.

You may garnish with additional bacon and parsley, if you desire, at serving time.
