ARMENIAN CHICKEN WITH RICE 
RICE WITH CURRANTS:

1 tbsp. oil
1 c. uncooked white rice
1 sm. onion, sliced
1/2 c. dried currants
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed consomme plus water to equal 2 c.

CINNAMON CHICKEN:

1 frying chicken (3 lbs.), cut into pieces
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 to 2 tbsp. oil

Heat oil in a skillet. Brown rice and onion. Transfer to a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and add consomme and water and the currants; stir to mix.

Remove visible fat from chicken and at least half of the loose skin. Shake chicken in a bag with flour, salt, pepper and cinnamon. Heat oil in a skillet and brown chicken pieces. Place chicken on top of rice. Cover, and bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
