BRAN BREAD 
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
2 c. bran flakes
1 tsp. salt

Mix flour, bran flakes and salt in bowl. In separate bowl, mix raisins, boiling water, shortening and baking soda. Let stand 10 minutes.

In big bowl, beat eggs, add sugar. Add raisin mixture, alternately with flour mixture. Put in greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes; for 2 small loaf pans, bake 35 minutes.
