SWISS BROCCOLI CHOWDER | |
2 cups cubed ham 2-3 cups water 1 beef bouillon cube 2 cups broccoli florets, cut into small pieces dash of pepper 1 cup milk 1 cup half & half 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/4 cup water 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese Cook ham (about 15 minutes) in 2-3 cups water (enough to cover ham plus a little more). Remove the ham and set aside. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of this broth after boiling. Add the beef bouillon cube and stir to dissolve. Add pepper add the broccoli to the broth. Cook until tender. Add ham, milk, and half & half to the broth and broccoli. Mix the flour with the 1/4 cup water until smooth. Add the flour to the soup mixture. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened.
