CHERRY FILLED SQUARES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter or Crisco
4 eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 can cherry pie filling
Confectioners' sugar

Grease jelly roll pan. Cream butter until light and fluffy with sugar. Add eggs and beat, then flour and extract. Spread evenly in pan and with a knife divide it into 20 squares (these lines will disappear during baking). Put approximately 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each square using entire can. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove immediately. Sift powdered sugar over it. Cool and cut into squares.
