CHERRY NUT SQUARES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. sifted cake flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 can cherry pie filling
Powdered sugar

Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla. Stir in eggs, one at a time. Stir in flour. Add well. Spread 3/4 of the batter in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. Cover with pie filling. Spread with spatula. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into squares.
