RED CHERRY SQUARES 
1 pkg. white cake mix
1 1/4 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
2 (21 oz.) cans cherry pie filling
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. packed brown sugar

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13 x 9 inch pan. In large bowl, combine cake mix, 1 cup rolled oats and 6 tablespoon of the butter; mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup crumbs for topping. To remaining crumbs, add 1 egg; mix until well blended. Press into greased pan. Pour cherry pie filling over crust; spread to cover.

To reserved crumbs in large bowl add 1/4 cup oats and 2 tablespoons butter, nuts and brown sugar; mix well. Sprinkle over cherry filling. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until golden brown. Serve with whipped cream. 12 servings.
