MACARONI CASSEROLE 
1 1/2 c. macaroni
1 large onion, chopped
1 can red kidney beans
1 large can tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1/2 to 1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 to 1 tsp. chili (optional)
1 c. grated cheese

Cook macaroni until tender, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain. Brown ground beef; add chopped onions. Add kidney beans with juice. Add seasonings as desired. Add tomatoes, cut up, with juice. Combine. Put in large casserole.

Bake in 350°F oven about 30 minutes until hot and bubbly. Add cheese a few minutes before removing from oven to melt.

This casserole was called "Daddy's Salad" because the very young children could not pronounce the word "casserole".
