PINEAPPLE, DATE, WALNUT BREAD | |
1 beaten egg 1/3 c. milk 1/2 c. salad oil 9 oz. can (1 c.) crushed pineapple 1 c. chopped dates 1/2 c. chopped nuts 3 c. sifted flour 3/4 c. sugar 3 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda Combine egg, milk, shortening, pineapple, nuts and dates. Add sifted dry ingredients and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Stir just enough to moisten. Bake in greased pan about 55 minutes at 350 degrees. This recipe makes one long loaf using a 13 inch long by 4 3/4 inch wide loaf pan. Delicious with cream cheese. |
