HOT SAUSAGE SANDWICHES 
4 lbs. Italian sausage (hot or sweet)
2 green peppers, sliced thin
2 med. onions, sliced
2 lg. cans tomato puree
2 sm. cans tomato paste
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
12 oz. beer
Sausage rolls
Olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced

Cut sausage the length of buns. Slit lengthwise and flatten. Brown on both sides in hot olive oil. Remove. Drain fat. In more oil, saute pepper, onion and garlic until onion is just soft. Combine remaining ingredients in crock pot or stove top on low heat. Cook on low at least 3 hours or longer. Serve on rolls with onions and peppers. Also add melted Mozzarella or provolone cheese if desired.
