SCALLOPED APPLES 
6 apples, peeled & sliced thin (Winesaps or Jonathan)
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
3 c. soft bread crumbs
1/4 lb. butter, melted to pour over bread crumbs

Mix apples, spices and sugar. Put half the buttered bread crumbs into a small, shallow baking pan (9 inch square pan). Then spread apples over the crumbs and top with the other half of the bread crumbs. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
