ANNIE'S FAVORITE SOFT MOLASSES
COOKIES
 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. canola oil or butter
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped nuts, if desired

1. Sift together flour, salt, soda and spices. Cream together butter, oil and sugar. Beat in eggs and molasses. Add dry ingredients and blend together.

2. Roll spoonfuls of dough into 1 inch balls. Roll balls in white sugar and place on baking sheets. (Can also be dropped by spoonfuls onto sheets.)

3. Bake 5-8 minutes at 350 degrees (watch closely) just until golden. Cookies will flatten.
