2 pkg. dry yeast or 2 tbsp.
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
6 1/2 to 7 c. sifted flour
1 egg
1/4 c. soft shortening

Punch down occasionally. About 2 hours before baking, cut off amount needed. Return remaining dough to refrigerator. Shape rolls and place them on greased sheet. Let rise until light (1 1/2 to 2 hours). Heat oven to 400 degrees. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 4 dozen if you use all the dough.
