BAKED CABBAGE 
1 head cabbage (2 1/2 lbs.)
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. pepper
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 2 quart casserole. Bring 1 cup water to boil in a saucepan. Add 1 teaspoon salt and head of cabbage. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes; drain well. Cut cabbage into small pieces, discarding core. Arrange pieces in casserole. Sprinkle with a mixture of flour, sugar, salt, and pepper. Dot with butter. Pour hot milk over cabbage. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
