BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla, almond or butter flavoring

Beat Crisco, sugar and eggs until fluffy. Sift flour, soda and salt 3 times. Add dry and wet ingredients alternately. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
