PINEAPPLE NUT COOKIES 
2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
2 c. pineapple
8 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
4 tsp. baking powder
2 c. ground walnuts
Maraschino cherries

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix dry ingredients together in bowl. Mix Crisco, sugars, vanilla and eggs and pineapple (juice and all). Blend in dry ingredients 1 cup at a time until all blended. Add nuts.

Drop on ungreased cookie sheet by teaspoons. Place a half of cherry in center of each cookie. Bake for 10 minutes. Can use red or green cherries. Yield: 15 dozen.
