PAWNEE SCHOOL QUICK CHOCOLATE
CAKE
 
9 qts. flour
4 1/2 c. cocoa
3 tbsp. salt
1 1/2 c. vinegar
6 qts. sugar
9 tbsp. baking soda
9 tbsp. vanilla
5 qts. water
9 c. oil

Put oil, vinegar, vanilla in mixer first then add flour, cocoa, salt, sugar, baking soda, and water. Mix about 3 minutes then scrape mixer. Mix about 2 minutes longer. This makes 3 (18 x 26 inch) cakes or 9 (9 x 13 inch) cakes. Large recipe can be cut down. Bake large cakes at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Bake smaller cakes at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done.
