SWEET BAKED RIBS 
3 lbs. spareribs or country ribs
2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. water
2 tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. white vinegar
3/4 c. catsup

Cut ribs into 2 or 3 rib portions. Salt and pepper. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Drain fat. Mix remaining ingredients. Stir constantly until thickened and clear. Pour over ribs. Bake for 30 minutes or more or until meat is tender. Baste with sauce two or three times while baking.
