HASHBROWNS AU GRATIN 
2 pkg. frozen hashbrowns
2 c. half and half cream
1/2 c. butter
8 oz. (or more) shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. minced onion
Salt and pepper
Handful crushed potato chips.

Heat cream and butter in a saucepan until butter melts. Pour over defrosted hashbrowns in a casserole. Add onions, salt and pepper. Let stand in refrigerator for 7 to 8 hours. Stir several times. Spread cheese on top and sprinkle with potato chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Serves 8.
