QUILTED CHEESY CORNBREAD 
1 pkg. corn muffin mix
1 lg. egg
3/4 c. sour cream
1/4 c. chopped pimentos
1/4 c. finely chopped green pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 lb. fontina or cheese of your choice, cut into 1/4 inch thick strips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line 8-inch square pan with aluminum foil; grease foil. Combine muffin mix, eggs, sour cream, pimento, pepper and garlic powder and mix well.

Spread evenly in prepared pan. Arrange cheese strips in a crosswise row at least 1 inch apart in a quilt pattern on top batter. Bake 20 minutes or until lightly brown.
