TORTA SECCA 
3/4 lb. butter
2 c. white sugar
5 eggs
5 c. all purpose flour, sifted
1 lb. walnuts
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. almond extract

Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Melt butter blend sugar into butter and mix well. Add well beaten eggs. Add extract. Add flour mixture to butter mixture one cup at a time. Add walnuts. Put by spoonful into two greased 9 x 9 pans or one large pan if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Test with toothpick for doneness.
