CHOCOLATE CRUNCH COOKIES 
1 scant c. butter Crisco
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. hot water
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 large pkg. chocolate chips

Cream Crisco and sugars. Add beaten eggs. Put soda into hot water and add. Add vanilla, salt and flour. Beat until mixed. I use electric mixer. Add chips.

Bake at 350°F to 375°F for 10 minutes.

The secret: Don't overbake. Best if chilled overnight.
