DONNER AND BLITZEN OR MERINGUE
LAYERS WITH FRUIT
 
1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs, separated
1/3 c. butter
4 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch cream of tartar

MERINGUE:

1 c. sugar
1 pt. whipped cream
Fruit of choice - strawberries or peaches

Cake Batter: Cream 1/2 cup sugar and butter with egg yolks. Beat until light and fluffy. Add milk, flour and baking powder. Spread in two buttered 8 inch tins. It will be thin layers.

Meringue: Beat egg whites until dry. Add gradually 1 cup sugar and cream of tartar. Spread over batter in pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Turn out layers. Alternate whipped cream, fruit, and layers. Enjoy!
