POPPING FRESH COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. flour
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, softened
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. quick-cooking oats
1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. wheat germ
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. flaked coconut

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spoon flour in large bowl, except 1 cup flour, oats and chocolate chips. Beat at medium 1 to 2 minutes. By hand, stir in remaining ingredients (1 cup flour, optional). Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute. Remove from cookie sheet. Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
