AWARD WINNING PEANUT BRITTLE 
1 c. white syrup
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. raw peanuts (I prefer to use roasted peanuts)

Mix syrup, sugar and water together. Bring to boil. Meanwhile, put peanuts in oven in flat pan until hot. When syrup starts to boil, put in peanuts and cook 7 minutes, stirring all the time. Add baking soda and pour over aluminum pan or foil. Do not spread out.

The secret is to use an iron skillet to cook this candy in.
