3 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. mayonnaise
1/3 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
3 c. chopped, peeled apples
1 c. raisins

Grease and flour a 13 x 9 inch flat pan. In a large bowl with mixer at low speed, beat all ingredients (except apples and raisins) for 2 minutes, scraping bowl often. Batter will be very thick. With a spoon, stir in apples and raisins. Spoon batter into pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
