1 lb. walnuts, pecans or mixed nuts
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla

Make a syrup of sugar and water. When it will spin a thread (230-234°F) remove from heat, add 1 teaspoon vanilla, and stir in nuts until they sugar.

Cool, and break apart.

Cook's Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.
