PIZZA BURGER LOAF | |
1 lb. ground chuck, browned 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1/2 c. finely chopped onion 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained 2 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. paprika 3/4 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 tsp. salt 1 pkg. hot roll mix 1 c. Mozzarella 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 tbsp. sesame seed 1. In large skillet combine browned meat, onion, mushrooms, flour, tomato paste, paprika, oregano, pepper and salt. 2. Cook 15 minutes, stir, drain off grease and cool 10 minutes. 3. Meanwhile, prepare hot roll mix as label directs for pizza, but add 1/2 teaspoon salt. 4. On lightly floured board, roll dough into 12" square. 5. Place on a greased cookie sheet. 6. Spoon meat mixture down center 1/3 of dough; leave 2" each end. 7. Sprinkle cheese on top. 8. Cut diagonal strips in dough; 2" wide on each side of meat. 9. Fold up ends over meat and criss cross dough strips over meat; giving a braided look. 10. Brush loaf with egg; sprinkle with sesame seeds. 11. Bake 30 minutes or until brown in moderate oven. |
