1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 beaten eggs
4 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs. Sift together flour, soda and nutmeg; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla. Chill before baking. Drop from spoon onto baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Ice with tinted frosting after baked. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
