CONGO BARS 
2 3/4 cups sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cups melted shortening
2 1/4 cups brown sugar (1 lb. package)
1 cup chopped pecans
1 8oz pkg. chocolate chips

Melt shortening. add brown sugar. Stir until mixed. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased pan. Check after 15 minutes. Do not overbake. 350°F. 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 baking dish.
