PEANUT BUTTER CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. peanut butter (I like extra crunchy)

Bake in 13 x 9 x 1 inch pan at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

PEANUT BUTTER ICING:

1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. peanut butter
10 tbsp. milk

Cream together sugar and peanut butter; add milk. Boil to a soft ball or 235 degrees on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and beat. Add 1 tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until spreading consistency.
