FRESH ORANGE CAKE 
2 1/4 c. presifted cake flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. double acting baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Sift together above ingredients. Add 1/2 cup shortening (1/4 butter, 1/4 Crisco) and grated rind of one orange. Add 1/2 cup fresh orange juice and beat 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup milk, 2 unbeaten eggs and beat 2 minutes. Bake in 9 x 9 inch pan for about 40 minutes at 375 degrees. Frost with confectioners frosting using teaspoon orange rind, orange juice and butter, about the size of a walnut.
