SWEET YEAST DOUGH 
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. very warm water
2 pkts. dry yeast
4 eggs, beaten, room temp.
4 1/2 c. flour

Combine first 4 ingredients. Heat just until shortening is melted. COOL. Sprinkle yeast into warm water. Add to milk mix. Add eggs and 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.

Turn out onto floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic. Use ONLY as much flour as needed. Let rise until double. Punch down. Knead a few minutes and let dough rest 5 minutes. Shape into cinnamon or caramel rolls. Let rise 1 hour, bake in moderate oven.
