BLACK WALNUT CAKE | |
1 c. white sugar 1 lb. brown sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2 sticks butter 5 eggs 1 c. milk 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. black walnuts, chopped 3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. walnut flavoring 1 tsp. butter flavoring Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating on low speed. Add milk, flour and nuts. Beat well. Pour into a greased and floured tube cake pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder. |
