BLACK WALNUT POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. black walnut flavoring
1 c. black walnuts, chopped

Cream butter with shortening, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk. Add flavoring and walnuts. Stir with spoon; grease and flour tube pan.

Bake at 325°F for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Test with toothpick.
