SNICKER-DOODLES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Chill dough. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Shape dough into 1" balls; roll in cinnamon and sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. 6 to 7 dozen.
