SNICKER-DOODLES 
1 c. soft shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs

2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt

Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. (These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out).
