"CHILIE'S" CHILI 
"Chili's" is a popular restaurant chain. They serve Tex-Mex items and scrumptious hamburgers. This is supposedly the recipe for their chili.

2 lbs. ground sirloin
1 onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 c. tomato soup (optional) or can whole tomatoes
1 c. water
3 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 cans pinto beans (optional - and not usually done in Texas!)

Saute meat; add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer 1 hour. Remove lid and simmer until excess water evaporates. Add 1/4 to 1/3 cup masa flour/water mixture to thicken, if desired. Yield: 2 quarts.
