3/4 c. soft shortening Crisco
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Mix above ingredients. Chill for 1 hour. Roll on floured surface to 1/8" and cut out with desired cookie cutters.

To decorate with sugars: First brush unbaked cookies with egg whites and decorate with desired sugars.

Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. If you choose to ice cookies: Cool cookies, mix powdered sugar, small amount of milk and food coloring and ice.
