CHILI CON CARNE 
12 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 lbs. onions
1 gal. water
1 1/2 c. water for mixing
1/3 c. salt
1 1/2 c. oil
1 1/2 gal. tomato puree
1 1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. cumin
1/2 c. chili powder

Brown beef in fat, add onions; cook until clear. Drain off fat. Add pure and liquid and simmer until beef is tender.

Make paste of flour and water, add to beef mixture. Stir in chili powder. You may wish to add 1/2 cup ground cumin and 1/4 cup chopped garlic or garlic powder to taste. Cook at least 2 hours.

If beans are to be added to chili, add 2 pounds cooked beans. If you wish to serve beans alone, then 4 pounds should be cooked, as directed.
