VERMONT BAKED BEANS | |
2 c. Soldier beans, or navy beans, soak overnight and save water 1/2 c. onion 1/2 lb. bacon or salt pork 1 c. maple syrup 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. ginger Mix and pour over beans, use leftover water to cover, bake at 325 degrees for 6 or more hours. Keep covered in liquid at all times, use bean water and maple syrup. Or cook in crockpot on low for 12 to 14 hours or on high for 9 to 10 hours. For a main dish, add hot dogs to beans 20 minutes before serving. |
