PIZZA FROM SCRATCH 
1 1/3 c. water
2 tbsp. melted shortening
1 oz. compressed yeast
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
4 c. flour

Heat water, shortening and salt. When lukewarm, add yeast and sugar, stir to dissolve. Add flour gradually; beat until smooth. Turn onto floured board and knead until smooth. Shape into 2 balls, cover with towel and let rise until double. Roll to fit 12 inch pizza pan or cookie sheet. Roll about one inch larger than the pan to make edges. Cover with filling; let rest 20 minutes. Bake at 425 degrees for about 35 minutes.
