SAUSAGE WITH SWEET AND SOUR
CABBAGE
 
1 head red cabbage, coarsely chopped (1 1/2 to 2 lb.)
1 med. apple, cored and chopped
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. cider vinegar
2-3 tsp. instant minced onion
1/2 tsp. caraway seed
1/2 tsp. salt
1 to 1 1/2 lb. Polish sausage ring

In 12 x 18 inch baking dish combine all ingredients except Polish sausage. Mix well. Cover dish with plastic wrap. Microwave at high for 7-10 minutes. Stir.

Slash sausage at 3-4 inch intervals. Place in cabbage mixture. Re-cover. Microwave at high for 12-15 minutes, or until sausage is heated through and cabbage is tender-crisp. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
