SWEET & SOUR RED CABBAGE | |
1 med. head red cabbage, shredded 2 or 3 slices bacon, diced 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 c. apple cider vinegar "May be prepared 1 or 2 days ahead of time. Better warmed up the second day." 1. Brown bacon until crisp. Drain off most of the drippings, but leave a little for flavor. 2. In stainless steel or glass pan, combine cabbage, bacon and a little water. Cook until tender. 3. Sprinkle sugar on top, add vinegar and stir. Taste, and add more sugar if needed. 4. Heat and serve. OPTION: Eliminate the bacon, cook cabbage in water. Just before serving sprinkle with 2 tablespoons Bacos. |
