BAKED TOMATOES 
1 qt. home canned tomatoes
4-5 slices stale loaf bread
1 c. sugar
1/2 stick butter
Dab of pepper

Drain off some of the juice in the tomatoes. Crumble bread finely in tomatoes. Stir in sugar, melted butter and pepper. Pour in buttered pan or casserole dish. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until done.
