CREOLE CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 1/2 c. oil 2 eggs 2 c. flour 2 tbsp. cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. boiling water with 1 tsp. baking soda Cream together sugar, oil, and eggs. Mix flour, cocoa, and salt and add. Slowly add buttermilk, vanilla, and boiling water with soda. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. Bake 45 minutes at 300 degrees. CREOLE ICING: 3/4 stick butter 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. milnot 1 c. pecans 1 c. coconut Mix and spread on cake, hot from the oven. Put under broiler until golden; watch carefully. |
