HAMBURGER MACARONI | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 tbsp. shortening 2 c. hot water 1 can tomatoes, cut up 1/4 c. Heinz 57 sauce 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar Dash pepper 11 oz. uncooked macaroni (1 c.) Brown beef and onion in shortening. Drain excess fat. Stir in water and next 5 ingredients. Add macaroni; mix well. Bring mixture to boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until macaroni is tender. Garnish with minced parsley, if desired. Makes 5 servings (5 1/2 cups). |
