HAMBURGER AND MACARONI BAKE | |
1 onion 14 1/2 oz. can tomatoes 1/4 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated (1 c.) 1 1/2 c. elbow macaroni 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 tsp. dry thyme 1/2 tsp. dry oregano Salt 2 tbsp. flour 1 1/2 c. milk Heat oven to 400 degrees. Butter a 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Chop onion. Drain tomatoes and chop. Grate cheese. Cook macaroni until done. Drain. Cook beef in frying pan until brown. Add onion, thyme, oregano and salt to beef. Cook, stirring until almost dry. Put flour in saucepan and add milk slowly, stirring. Cook over medium heat, stirring until it comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in grated 3/4 cup cheese. Combine to macaroni and beef and put all into baking dish. Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes. |
