BAKED APPLE DUMPLINGS 
4 or 5 apples
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. melted butter

Core, pare and cut up apples and mix with sugar. Prepare batter by sifting flour, baking powder and salt together. Add beaten egg and milk to make a drop batter. Stir in melted butter. Mix apples with batter, until every piece is coated. Fill greased baking cups and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve hot with milk. Makes 12. Other fruit may be substituted, i.e. peaches.
